A few weeks or months ago I had a 200 gig Seagate drive short circuit. I just got the replacement in yesterday and was happy to see they gave me a 250 gig drive. I copied some stuff over after formatting it then it was turned off. It was on for less than 4 hours. I came back home today and just plugged it in, happy to get my stuff back.

I was about to start checking my email when I heard something like a bunch of crickets having wild bondage sex and also some crickets chirping happily. I turn off that drive and find that it went away. So heres a big FUCK YOU SEAGATE for sending me a fucked up hard drive.:rant:

 

Its happened three times so far.. I just turned it back on to start copying things off of it and its fine.. :dunno: Damn thing.. And my Notebook Chill pad fan is making lots of noise.

I got a couple folders off so far. I'll let it sit till tomorrow and hack at it again. It works for about 1-4 minutes at a time then makes noises again. Sometimes it starts off with noises.

When the noises happen no data is being read.

My point is that I'm pissed off at Seagate for sending me a replacement hard drive that barely works! And that I have to pay shipping. 30 bucks for original 200, 10 for shipping to them, now 10 to ship their shitty one back. Maybe they'll send me a 300 gig.



Edit: I have a feeling its a bad sector. Thats what I get for doing a quick format. 40 gigs on it:sad: Its going to take a long time to copy it over, bit by bit.
