God Bless the USMC...
I went to the Heineken Party Cruise... which was friggen awesome, even though I don't like Heineken so much.
Anyways, I had like 6 or 7 beers over the same amount of hours, and I took a shuttle bus back to my car. I had to drive only like 10minutes to my house. OF COURSE.... I got pulled over.
It was really foggy, so I drove for like 30seconds after the cop flashed me and put the siren on, until I found a well light, side street away from traffic, for HIS safety. I pulled over, rolled the window down, turned off the engine and turned all the lights on inside the car. ( I've found that helping them this little bit could make a big difference.)
He miust have been nervous since I was driving a Grand Caravan with NY plates or something. He paged me over the loud speaker telling me to get out of the car and walk towards the hood of his car with my hands out. I complied of course. He stood by his driverside door and had me hand him my ID from the hood. He asked whose car it was so I played it smart and said it was my dads and I borrowed it because I was moving to Miami in a few weeks becacuse I was joining the Miami-Dade Fire Department and I was too poor to afford a U-Haul.
He ran my ID which is clean, and came back and told me he stopped me cause I rolled through a stop sign. He said he noticed my Marine Corps ID and asked who was in the service. I told him I was and he said he was also and told me his MOS, so he is going to let me off. Just drive safer, and I'll see why once I become a Fire Fighter.
I shook his hand and off I went... happy. I like how some cops arent dickwads and actually care about people. Or maybe I just know how to talk my way out of shit. Good times
Anyone else have a good recent cop story?

Yeah, I got pulled over like 4 days ago....I was going 35 in a 25 in this area where there are always cops (most of the time 2 or 3). Most of the time I make sure I am driving nice and slow so I don't have problems. Well that day I was having a conversation with my wife and got going a little faster than I should and before I knew it I got pulled over.
I did the same thing you did. I turned off the car, rolled down the windows, and turned on the lights. He walked up to the car asked for my info and went back to check the stuff out in his car. He came back and gave me a warning. I'm not a marine but being polite and putting them at ease really does make a huge difference. :goodjob:

well my friend is a marine and he didnt have the same luck you did. friday night, we have a few beers eatin dinner at like 9, go out to a party, he has like 5, 6 more. get in his wrx and head home. he's drivin, theres one other kid in the front and two of us in the back. hes goin the speed the limit, driving fine and we pass a cop (going the opposite direction), so he decides to speed up a little bit for some reason, of course the next car coming that direction is another cop, who turns around pulls us over.
friend got a dwi, we sat in the car for an hour while he did all his shit. cop tells us to find a ride or call a taxi or something. now its 4:30am on a friday night (saturday morning), so everyone we call is either asleep or hammered, or both. finally blow up the kid he lives with 100 times until his girl answered and came and picked us up. cop made us stand out in the cold for 20 minutes too
edit: i told him to turn the car off, turn the lights on and put the keys on the dash too because of what i read here

Well I got pulled over last spring when I was on leave for not maintaining my lane.
I made sure I flashed my military ID before I pulled out my DL... after he saw my insurance was good he said consider this a warning to drive safely and then he told me he noticed the military ID, so I was like yeah I'm actually stationed in Iraq right now with the Army and I'm home on leave. At this point we were totally relaxed so I was like man we don't maintain lanes over there and stuff. He got a good laugh out of it and then we said see ya later....
The end.
