Default New Subway reward/ad campaign?

Last night these 2 wankers in suits were going around our neighborhood knocking on everyone's door. When they finally got to our place they said they were from Subway and were selling these cards/coupon things for $25 that was some sort of reward program. It supposedly is replacing the stamp campaign thing that they ended last year. I've never heard of a restaurant send people door to door selling stuff like this before and something just didn't seem right about the whole thing. I'm just curious if this is this happening in other areas of the country or if anyone else has heard of this?

it could be 3 things.

1. Scam

2. Fundraiser for a not for profit group

3. Hired marketing team. Our company hired another to do door to door sales. Sydcore reps make cold calls and all sorts of sales tactics we'd never try ourselves.

I am pretty sure that it is not "sponsored" by Subway corporately.....maybe it is the brainchild of a franchisee in your area?

I have a strong feeling that they have very loose promotional ties with Subway. I agree that it could be some 3rd party or 'fund raiser' type thing.

Chances are, Subway won't honor it though.
