Default is this a good or bad idea?

i have to hurry up and make a choice of where and what i should do for college.
i don't know what i want to study yet but i have to make a choice soon.
the only thing that pops into my head that i like is automotive technolgy.
my question is do i have to know alot about cars to go for that major?
or do they start teaching you the basics?

go in as undeclared, take a few general classes and use that time to figure out where you wanna go w/ your education.

Based upon your previous automotive questions it would be safe to say that what you have is indeed a bad idea.

dont know what to tell you except you shouldve started thinking about this sooner. and its great you have an interest in cars, but that doesnt mean you'll be cut out to make your career off of it. i have an interest in a ton of things, but almost all of them are unrealistic if i want to consistently have a roof over my head.

:werd: are you gonna go to a university, community college or what? i wanted to go to a community college when i got out of high school and just live at home, but my parents didnt want me to. i ended up going somewhere else.. make a long story short, didnt do shit, dropped out for a year. i then went to a community college for a semester and now im at a suny (state univ. of new york for those who dont know) school doing pretty well.

Undeclared. All cirriculum requires gen ed toward your degree so when you finally decide you're that much closer.
