that's about the only thing I agree with, actually. Fahrenheit > Celsius.

"baby steps".. the next time a sign needs changing? put it up in metric and imperial. i mean, if you ask me, with globalization, it HAS to happen. we're just delaying the inevitable.

Fahrenheit is retarded, and so is the rest of the imperial system. I wish we would switch.

Oh, I agree. I am just giving you an excuse that is most likely used as to why they should not switch...besides being stubborn

I think the idea of switching has been around for decades. I think it would be nice to switch but there's just way too much resistance to change. There's also the cost of the switch. Even if it is done just one sign at a time, for some reason, it'll be really costly. Budgets are already stretched as it is.

The big deal is that the metric system is just that much more precise and less prone to calculation errors. Forget street signs, its not a big deal, the big deal is construction and manufacturing. In these industries noone wants to work with precision greater than 1/8" because the calculations become too complex, where as with milimiters and decimas its just that much simplier. Do you know how many mistakes happen during constructions because of caclulation errors? Sure, its human error, but the imperial system is to be blamed as well, because its retardedly complicated. Did you notice how well the panels are aligned in foreign cars, and the wide gaps in domestics? Maybe it's because they are using the imperial system, and set their precision to lets say 1/32, whereas Lexus is using .001 of a milimiter?
