When my buddy was building his shop, he had to decide want kind of dyno he wanted to have installed in his shop. Between all the manufacturers (Mustang, Dynapack Chassis, Taylor, Superflow, yada yada), they each had a maximum rated WHP and WTQ that it was capable of measuring. Some were as little as 300WHP, others as much as 2500WHP.
The end.

Well, I don't think they'd be stupid enough to run a supercharged z06 on a 300hp dyno. Would you? And trust me, I know a little bit about dynos...I've actually worked on one.

Could have put out more power than they anticipated. Obviously they won't throw it on a pussy ass dyno but 1000HP+ dyno's aren't exactly abundant.
Congrats on working on them. If you know a little about them, how'd you fail to know that there were different measurement capabilites?

When did I ever fail to know about different capabilities? I never said that there weren't different power rated dynos...but most are generally over 1000...at least that I've seen.
