Default Wireless Mouse

Ok, here's the deal. My son has a habit of grabbing our mouse by the cord and yanking it when he's running around in his walker. Last night was the final pull....the optical input died.....mouse= 357, marble floor=1....anyway. I'm debating going wireless optical.

here is the question. I've read many issues about lag w/ gaming etc. I game from time to time...how bad is it? I'm by no means a die-hard gamer anymore. The PC is more of a work machine lately, but i jump into HL2DM a few times a month.

Opinions? I'll post ones i'm looking at later.
