i need to vent.... about what? yep, my job.

its too damned monotonous, same shit every single day from 7:30 til 3:00 at which point i have to milk it til 4 to keep a 40 hour week. still not nearly enough money (i have 27 bucks to last me til next wednesday :hsugh: ) and i'm still dealing with people who should know how to fix at least half of their problems without me. i am too worn out, i need some vacation.

sorry to disappoint those of you who miss my old anger driven work rants, i know this isnt quite as solid but i gotta get this out of my system anyway.

computer and payment systems operations at a credit union. its not a bad job, i like it enough but i need more money.

working on a couple of other possibilities though, hopefully something comes of them.

 

thats a pretty weak rant from the old ones. but none the less i have the same problems. i am not sure who you talk to, but i talk to some investment brokers and damn are some of these people really stupid. HOW in the world do you get a job at an investment firm and not know what or how to calculate interest?

 

Ask for a raise, ask for more responsibilities.

 

I'm in the same boat. Been here for 6 years now and have done the same damn shit, different day since. Sadly, now I just don't care anymore. I come in at 9, when I'm supposed to be here at 8:30, leave at 4:30 when I'm supposed to leave at 5. Do a half-assed job with things, I'm not as polite and smily as I used to be when answering the phones, and you're right. People can do half the shit they ask for help on themselves around here, yet they get paid the bigger bucks.

Maybe you need a change in atmosphere?

 

Most jobs are monotonous. That's why it's called "work" and not a hobby.

 

IMO, though, even though it's work, you should still at least "like" it a little.

 

i feel for u and its ok to rant here. nursing isnt boring, its extremely stressful. communication, hospital wide is pretty bad. the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing on most days. on the investment bankers being dumb, ive noticed alot of accountants that r just as stupid. they work with money and numbers everyday and cant handle their own finances. i hope things get better for u.
