Default Software that monitors battery power?

Anyone know any good software that will monitor how much battery you have left on a laptop? I formated my Inspiron and need a new one now

windows

right click desktop>properties>screen saver>power>advanced>check "always show icon on the task bar"

I tried installing this twice before i figured out how to use the windows one and it kept giving me errors and would never work.
