Paddle shifters: the new trend
Since nobody except VW/Audi has the DSG (or similar technology) transmission, this whole paddle shifter trend is about as wonderful (aka stupid) as the START button ignition that still has the ignition key.

(BTW, the start button where you never have to insert the key into the dash anywhere because it senses it by proximity it cool... like the Toyota Prius).

BMW introduced SMG wayy before Audis DSG. 1996-7 with the E36 M3 (euro only).

Ferrari F1 is the name for the cars with the paddle shift system. aka 355 F1, 360 F1

i've driven an m3 smg, and it was pretty sweet.
and the start button on the s2000 is hot as hell.
