Default ugh. frustrated.

so ive been doing some shopping, want to get an engagement ring for holly... and my dad told me last year that we have 2 heirloom diamonds (about 1 karat each) and that if i wanted i could use one ... well good idea, that will save me tons of cash.... so last nite i muster up the balls to talk about it and ask for one... and he stayed in the conversation for about 30 seconds. wtf so that conversation went nowhere, pretty much ruined my night.

now im gonna have to bring it up again. what a pain in the ass :happysad: finding a chance where i can talk to my old man without interference from siblings, s/o's, or my mom is hard enough not to mention how hard it can be to start a conversation like that ...

i thought the timing was fine last nite.... it took me long enough as it is... i get along with my dad just fine but sometimes, starting a conversation with him is hard as hell.... and trying to keep that conversation going in the right direction is damn near impossible. gah.... this sucks!

i told him that the setting i picked out with a diamond was about 6500 bucks.... but if i just bought the setting it was only $1500. he suggested a plain banded solitare. that was pretty much the end of the discussion. if it wasnt an extra 5 grand.... id say fuck it and not even bother trying to bring it up again....

Bring up the setting again and when he kills the convo, bring up the next topic.. "Do you still have those heirloom diamonds you said I could use?" Or just be like "I want a diamond that could stay in the family for a long time.. Wait..We hae one don't we?"
