nascar is a monopoly as far as i'm concerned

the majority of the tracks are owned by the family that owns the nascar name & decides where the races will be run. they also own or co-own a better portion of the teams if i'm not mistaken.

i've never found it that interesting for the simply fact of all the "rubbing"....in open-wheel like indy car & f1, you have to out-drive a competitor to get around him, but in nascar, you just bump, crash, & strong-arm somebody to get around them. try that in open-wheel & you'll take yourself outta the race too.

just my 2-cents

With the increasing dependency on aerodynamics those points aren't valid anymore. Even the slightest nudge can bend in a fender or bumper causing a drastic change in the way the car handles. The drivers actually have to outdrive another competitor to pass nowadays.

I understand the driving demands that nascar drivers have on the track, but as a spectator, I'd rather watch golf............GOLF!
