It didn't follow the comic book as closely as you may think , but aside from that it was a rushed production and the dialogue was kinda...meh.

Tomb Raider was ok but it was really more of a lesson in sexual marketing (kinda like the game was) and they spent more time making sure that Angelina was in a nicely soaked shirt more than they cared about any plot line development..same goes for TR2 but not quite as bad in the second.

but compared to other films of its genre it was good for what it was...
dialogue was eh as nightshade pointed out...but its depiction is fairly good atleast to me when it comes to following the comic unlike some movies that are based on things....

 

Depends on what you are going by. Personally I feel all movies of comic books should be taken from the graphic novels as they are more core to the layout of characters and plotline. Xmen is going off the series which has to be compressed into a single 1.5 hour movie (whatever happened to 2 hour movies anyways?) so they skip a lot of important story along the way and end up jump;ing plot lines a lot.

I dunno if they stopped making movies based on games and comic books I think things would be better off and the remakes should also be done away with.
