my hometown has the best water i've ever tasted... out of the faucet. nowadays i'll drink either from the faucet, out of the brita, or bottled. whatever is available.

most bottled water is just "purified" tap water anyway.... aquafina and dasini are both bottled tap water... and the majority of store brand water is municipal tap water... so you dont gain much by going that route unless you go right for the spring water...
