sugar in my gas tank..please help

Default sugar in my gas tank..please help

hey everyone...recently somone dumpted sugar in my tank. i'm only assuming it was sugar because as i felt around the filler hole it was sticky. anyway i need to get the fuel tank off so i can clean it out. how do i do this? where will i find the bolts to remove the tank? where do i start? any help is greatly appreciated

you might be able to get away with leaving it on the car... there is a drain bolt somewhere on the bottom of the tank... drain out the gas and flush it out with something.

cool i'm hoping it will be that easy. is this still true for my 2000 Honda Accord?

Yes, all models should have a drain plug, just have to get under there and look for it.

wow... you must have pissed someone off... how did they get your hatch open? did they break it, or did you leave you car unlocked?

i would take the tank off to be safe, sugar is not good to have in your tank!

on that car you can drain the fuel out with the drain hole, but the best way depending on how much sugar is in the tank is to pull the tank pull the fuel pump and see how much is setting on the bottom of the tank also change your fuel filter.

You can keep that sugar in a tank. Just always keep the engine warm.
