what? how does that make any sense? you put in your vin and it displays the history report. has nothing to do with emails. i'm interested to know what can be done with a vin anyway? its not like a social security number. and how would someone steal your car?

if you dont like it, dont use it. but i found it useful so i thought i'd share. and i love the forums btw, go lots of help from the DYI forums.

a key can be made by any locksmith for most cars in under 10 minutes

 

a vin doesn't have any information about the owners address or the owners name. so i still fail to see the danger. i'm not being devils advocate, i just fail to see any problems directly associated with VINs only.

btw janiVI there was no referral, i got the link from that site and i linked to it. they often update links when they break thats i didn't do a direct one.

also i found it a little ironic how you said and then i moused over the links in your signature and they're all referrals. sorry, had to say it.
