Basin Street Blues has one of the most vibrant, poetic piano solos I've heard from his ensemble. It's about 6 and half minutes in.. and then Victor Feldman just takes off like a shot. But to fully appreciate his part, you really need to hear the entire track... heck, the entire album.

I'll have to get that. I only have Bitches Brew, Compete in a Silent Way, Kind of Blue, and Sketches of Spain.

If you're interested in more of his live recordings, I definitely recommend the other album in that list..[ The Complete Concert 1964: My Funny Valentine + Four & More ]

At that point, you have Herbie Hancock on piano, so the whole dialogue changes in that performance.

If you add Blue Miles (which is a compilation CD) and The Complete Concert 1964: My Funny Valentine to your collection, you'll be very well set IMHO.

Both ought to be available for reasonable money nowadays.

Blue Miles is listed as CK-61405 in the Columbia catalogue..
My Funny Valentine is on Columbia as well.. C2K-48821. (It's a two-disc set.)
