I was almost in a frat before I dropped out. I would be if I had stayed in school. People have a lot of misconceptions on frats and obviously it changes from campus to campus, but generally frats are great places. Yeah, sometimes its sorta the stereotypical over bearing ego assholes. Generally though its great people to hang out with. You aren't really paying to make friends, you are paying to cover insurance and other misc. things.

They are really good for business connections later in life too. I know a lot of former frat guys who got jobs because the director or manager of a job they wanted was also in their frat.
