windows media player converts everything you put into it to .wmp and makes 1/2 the shit not work on cd players... so you get all fucking happy cuz you just handpicked every single song on a cd that consists of about 250 songs, and it turns out about 150 of them don't even fucking work!.... so yeah... don't use WMP... fuckers

musicmatch jukebox is what i've always used

you can convert wav to mp3 @ most any bit-rate or mp3 to wav

i use audiograbber to "rip" cds to wav & normalize them to the same relative volume level & then musicmatch jukebox to convert the wavs to mp3

Check in your preferences where the file address is that it saves converted files to.

I think it is something like

programs > CDex > converted

but not sure. You can also change the save to location if you like.

I use this program exclusivley and have found it to be the best of the many I have both paid for and gotten for free.

winamp has a built in .wav out writer.

options
preferences
output
waveOut output 2.X

run the mp3, it'll write a wav file.
