why do people sell gift card on Ebay

Default why do people sell gift card on Ebay

i mean why dont they just buy something and return it to get the cash?

you don't get cash, you get the amount back on as a store credit.


the only way you get cash back is if you pay with cash, check, or debit card.

ah.. i get it now. Funny i baught a shirt with Gap Gift certificate and they i returned it and they paid back in cash h: must of been a error

I think you might have ... but your results may vary depending on the store / clerk.

I know Target, Wal-Mart, Kohls, and Home Depot do the gift card payment = gift card returned thing.



then again, some people don't want to go though the hassle of buying & returning for cash. :dunno:

But how can you be so sure that the amount they say they're selling it for is actually still loaded into the card? How can they prove that a 300 dollar gift card doesn't have a remaining balance of 5 bucks?

wow, never thought of that. Damn ... that's true ... I can grab a stack of GC's at Target and walk away. Go to eBay list them as $200 GC's.

That's even worse than the scammer posted today.
