Default extract tooth or root canal?

assuming both are free for a decayed tooth. would u try to keep the real tooth thru a root canal treatment or just get rid of it once and for all?

pulled out, in 5 years they will have to pull it anyways....just as long as u dont get the "gap"

i got a root canal at 14 (yea i know ) and the filling freaken came out...i guess they r suposed to put a cap on the tooth after? and then the tooth cracked and i ended up pulling it out myself. now i just have a gap there and it dont bug me at all hope that helps (fell out when i was 16)
