Default need help buying tires

i was looking online, but im gonna buy local. i have this 205/45zr16 87w.
can someone tell me what this stands for. right now i have yokohama es100's and they're around $85 each.

Negative. Smaller number means smaller sidewall. It's the aspect ratio.

Say your tire is 205mm wide, the sidewall is 45% the width of the tire. This is why 205/45-17's will be thinner sidewalled than 215/45-17's.
