Sorry to hear what happen. Its tough not to get mad being that he is the in-law. and your wife's brother so ofcourse she's gonna try to stick up for him. Is your wife the type that will always try to protect her brother even though he is wrong, but won't allow you to be mad at him or to insist that he is wrong for what he did.

Sorry to hear bout the car.

Is this 24 yr old brother in law the type of guy where you are always helping him out but doesn't reurn the favor or doesn't show you his appreciation if you did something for him.

The aftermath:

I haven't seen him since the incident, but his mother has offered to pay for the damages, wife is letting me decide what to do. The thing is, HE should be paying, but I know it's gonna just come out of his parent's pocket. But that sucks because they have always been so generous and helpful to us. So if I'm going to collect, it's going to end up penalizing the parents, and not the brother. If I don't collect, it penalizes me.

Either way, he gets off free. (Which is a historical pattern in his life and I feel the cause for his current state of irresponsibility)

brother in law or not. I'd flip him upside down and shake money out of his pocket.

Oh... the good this is it doesn't look like the fenders were bent, and no cracks in the bumper. Rim is scuffed.

Anyone try using those Kragen little paint cans that match the color of your car? I saw a "Honda Granada Black" and was thinking of using it to touch up.
