Default computer question.. internet explorer

dont even bother with the firefox bullshit, its not my problem..

when my friend clicks a link in an email or something, a blank ie window comes up, has all the toolbars and address bars and what not, but nothing is on the page or in the address bar. i tried to create a shortcut on the desktop to numerous sites, and the same thing happens with all of them.

any ideas on how to fix it?

I had this problem once, the only fix was to re-install IE. Basically, the shortcuts/html links somehow disassociated from IE and you cannot (like you would think) manually reconfigure them.

You might try the repair option first, but I don't remember it working.
