Attn: Workout Squad Need Help
Sorry I've been away. I'm not sticking to a definitive program. I find many to be too restrictive. It changes per individual.
Here's a general idea of my program.
I'm working out 6 days a week.
all six days I'm putting in at least an hour of running roughly 6 miles. Sometimes more sometimes less, but always around 30-40 miles a week.
I lift hard and heavy 3 days a week separating opposing muscle groups. I don't think I need to go into this too much b/c everyone here has a good basis of this.
Lastly but most importantly is diet!!!
They won't tell you this, but eating healthy is EXPENSIVE.
You'll spend more on groceries and health concious foods, but think of it as an investment in your life.
I eat a substantial high fiber high protein breakfast
I snack on fresh fruit and veggies all day long
I drink at least 8 bottles of water ( I have a reminder on outlook )
For lunch its always a lean meat and a portion of carbs and fresh veggies
tuna or cottage cheese or more fruit mid afternoon
Dinner is either a lean meat or fish, usually grilled or baked with steamed or lightly stir fried veggies in extra virgin olive oil.
I cut out most my sugars, and refrain from carb in the evening. Monitor your food portions.
The key to sticking to this program is to eat. You can eat. You can snack. Just snack in a healthy manner.
And don't fool yourself. Changing your diet is HARD. That's why so many people fail. Just keep your long term health goals in view and you can fight through any difficulties.
My status update. I'm down 6 lbs.
I also got a haircut which makes me feel skinnier.
My meal today:
I had an apple and instant oatmeal this morning, 2 cups of coffee with splenda and no creamer
I came into work and they had breakfast burritos and fresh fruit. I sadly turned down the free yummy looking burritos for a cup of grapes, melons and pineapple.
Lunch meeting today with my litigation group so I get mexican from Baja Fresh. Small portion of rice, nice salad and grilled chicken breast and salsa fresca.
Dinner is grilled salmon and steamed green beans.
I'm going to have a sugar free jello for desert.
