A few years ago my mom got a set of those Calphalon pots & pans. She also got a bunch of utensils that have soft plastic tips to em because supposedly you really don't wanna scratch up the Calphalon pots & pans by using metal utensils on them. I was visiting home and using a pan and about to use a regular metal spoon or something in it, and she right about freaked out that I was gonna ruin her supposedly super exotic pan.

It's not a non stick surface in them and we have been using metal utensils in them from the beginning. Once they are seasoned they are just about as non stick as a teflon pan. The only thing we don't do is wash them in the dishwasher. Put cold water in them as soon as you are done cooking and everything washes out without scrubbing.

I have a set of Paul Revere pots and pans that I love and work perfectly.

Did I mention they were a wedding present for my parents 22 years ago? I recommend them.
