Same. Our family isn't too much into the Holiday season. Basically everyone just gets their own gifts :dunno:

Man, Christmas is perfect for faimily tradition type stuff. There are those who take that kind of thing for granted, just like there are those who would give anything for it.

It's just plain American to celebrate Christmas and yeah it is really hyped up, but once you get past all the candy canes and ribbons or whatever it's pretty cool.

this is the thing about christmas in 2005 ... nobody understands the meaning anymore. It's all about who gets what, where to go for dinner, and not dealing with greeting cards. If you look at that aspect, then yes ... the holiday is overrated.

If you are catholic or a religion that believes in Jesus in one way or another ... how can the birth of such an importnant figure be overrated?

I'm not overly religious, but even I know this is the most important birthday of all time. If you believe in Jesus as Christ, and call this overrated, I have no idea what to say.

I guess if you dont' believe in Christ there is a good chance it's because you've never heard or read the story of his birth from the Holy Bible. Which by the way is one of the most comprehensive recordings of human history among many other things.

And in no way do I mean to push beliefs on anyone. But as for me and my family, we will always celebrate Christmas. The point of which is to honor the birth of Christ.

If it wasn't for the kids I wouldn't do jack shit for Christmas...never have liked it much even when I was a kid.

exactly.

If you look at December 25th as a time for family and have no religious sentiment towards it due to prior beliefs, you have all the right in the world to call it over/under rated.

If you believe in a religion that aknowledges Jesus as the centerpiece of the faith, you have no right to call Christmas "overrated". If you do, you really need to look into what religion you want to belong to, if any.
