Default Long time no post and a new purchase!!

I've been working so-damn much lately that I've not even had a chance to check the board, which totally sucks.

The upside is that I picked up a new firearm (for duty carry), and this time it's a 1911 w/ a single stack (.45), holds 7+1 which should be fine.

It's a Para Ordnance Tac-S single stack 1911 in OD green. I wanted a 1911, but my department won't allow me to carry a single action 1911 (such as a Kimber or Colt) so I had to find one that has a double-action only trigger. The Tac-S has a very very smooth and very light trigger (under 6lbs on my configuration), but it still has the snap and surprise that a 1911 should have when it fires.

That is all... nothing exciting.

I paid $701 for the gun itself, and $40 each magazine. I have 5 magazines.

That's a great-looking weapon, even though I've never been a fan of OD green firearms. 1911s just have such a classic look. Do you carry a backup weapon?

I was supposed to shoot my buddy's 1911 last weekend (never shot a 1911 before), but he got into an accident while driving to the range. He's fine, but his WRX is missing a front bumper.

Ah, at least the double action is safer.

Did you now I'm going to reclass to MP in a few months? That's gonna be pretty crazy....

And yeah I know military police are very different from you guys, but hey, it's kind of the same.
