Default should my friend buy this?

he is in the market for a new laptop. A friend is offering me this laptop:
ad
For $750.00
I think its a great deal, but im pretty sure its "HOT". My other buddy told me not to go for it because Bestbuy/HP/ and or Microsoft will kno that laptop is HOT and when I ever do updates online... MS will "Lock" windows

Is this true?

thanks

I wouldn't buy a "hot" item.

Just wait on the Dell Deals.

Some HP raptops are made by Compaq - which are utter shit. Not that Dell is any better, but at least they'd be legit.
