lighters fuck up the taste...if you happen to have a butane torch, those work even better... first hold the torch against it and get it lit, then put it in ur mouth and do a series of short puffs...then one long one... as your doing that spin the cigar so you light it evenly.... enjoy

and wood matches are key, but if you wanna go one step better light it with a thin strip of cedar.

oh and you can either cut it traditionally or bullet cut it....I prefer bullet cut personally.

traditional uses a cigar cutter that cuts off the entire tip of the smoking area of the cigar...a bullet cut slices a small circle into the middle of the smoking area...I am a biter/slobberer so I prefer the bullet because it helps keep the tobacco on the end from fraying and getting in my mouth

now your talking. thats how I used to do it when I went to a local cigar bar in Boston.
