right click my computer and select properties... sp xp have issues with upgrading to non-sp XP (as in xp home sp2 to xp pro no sp)

reformat for the win.

You put it onto a disc...but did you burn it as an ISO file? If you just burnt it straight to disc without specifying it is an ISO then you are going to be SOL.

Is there a way to uninstall SP2 or do i just have to reformat?

reformat >>> upgrading but...

if you selected to backup original files during the sp2 setup... there should be an entry for sp2.
