He actually got lucky. The both rounds prior to the finals, his competition spun out or had car trouble. The final round went into sudden death and it was a very very very close battle.

Too bad during the qualifying rounds, 7 cars crashed. Rhys Millen's GTO was out.

I was sad that Ken Nomura's 4 door R34 smacked the wall after his 2nd run.

if anything, the whole formula D series is dominated by domestic cars. only a select few times has a japanese car won an event. its usually hubinette's viper, millen's GTO, or one of the two mustangs owned by gitten and gushi.

its expected in a honda/acura forum that people dont like drifting, except a few s2000 owners, with pfeiffer and papadakis as minorities in the formula d circuit.

given only God's persuasion will Honda ever make an affordable rwd coupe with torque, but if that ever happened you can only imagine all the kids powersliding (flooring it out of a driveway, or around a sharp turn, or just power-over - not drifting) calling themselves "drifters".

honestly, i cant stand much of the car scene at all these days, being the mAd TyTe JDM TyPe RRRR this and that, or the MaD DoRifTO SR20, RB25 this and that. And i can just see the next trend being kids that had these cars growing up to get luxury cars and making them MAD VIP style.

Yes I have a 240sx, and yes it is bone stock AND automatic.
My Integra is damn near stock too.

I love the 89 thru 90 whatever 240's. And I'd love to have one if I could afford two cars but it probably won't happen.

Drifting can do whatever it does as far as I'm concerned. The SCCA thinks it's cool so it's probably not going to just "die" anytime really soon. Hating on something just because it's mainstream is stupid too IMO.

In my opinion anyone who calls him or herself a true car person should be able to respect the good parts of any performance oriented machine whether it be domestic, imported, FR, MR, FF, AWD, riding on two wheels and even trucks to include sport SUV's. We definitely shouldn't go around hating each other.

I think once the more mainstream type car folks (as opposed to the maaad tyte jay dee em dr1ftaz) got into drifting I stopped being mad at it. It's just another motorsport, even if it is judged subjectively. But plenty of sports are judged subjectively. Freakin figure skating, gymnastics, and all that other Olympics stuff...oh yeah diving too, and pretty much everything at the X-games. It does involve more than just lighting up the tires and going sideways, it does take skill, and it does take a properly set up car. And Miatas can do it!

I mean come on that at least looks kind of entertaining, who cares if the first people in this country to embrace it were a bunch of stupid maaad tyte jay dee em dr1fta stunnaz?

i wish i can tell that to all the domestic muscle car owners who were so ignorant (they can only talk about racing in a straight line, import haters) that i used to be in school with..and all the "i love honda jdm" guys that cant see beyond the big H badge...and all the rest of the closeminded car people out there. its pretty annoying, and makes it difficult not to be so bitter.

in fact i'll put your quote in my sig.

i agree, its the little children killing themselves (i know because i was once a stupid child risking my life and others up canyon roads) that are making many people frustrated.

turbo miata = win.
dr1fta Stunnazz = loss.
