gearwrench question

Default gearwrench question

Hey guys, should I get the gearwrench set that has the

8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19 for $100
or
10,12,13,14,15,17,19 for $50

Are there many other cars that use the 8,9,11,16,18 That I'll wish I had?

for the 100 dollar set i'd only get it for the 8, which the 50 dollar set has already unless you're looking at a set i dont know about. unless you do work with SAE sizes, you'll be fine with the 50 dollar set.

go for the 50 dollar one you can buy the ones your missing for cheaper then throwing up another 50 dollars.

I would def. get the 100 dollar set....its always the ones you dont have that you end up needing at 2am.

can anyone think of an example where I would use a 16 or 18mm, Honda or otherwise?

the LCA bolts on my dads benz are 16mm on one side and 18mm on the other....which is kind of odd, and it fits both criteria...AND you cant fit a ratchet on one side.

I know a lot of bikes (not motorcycles) use 8 and 9 for things...the brake bleeding ports come to mind.

As far as the upper range, I think the sprocket removal tool requires an 18.

I used to work in a bike shop and I used a Park tool all the time that had 8,9,10 in a triangle shape. That was the only time I remember using the 9.

Any one else ever use a 16 or 18mm wrench?

Well if you have one of the little triangles, I guess you're all set for the lower end of the range
