Yea so i got a promotion at work. Went from the assistant to the actual position. As an assistant i was still hourly. Well since i acquired the position im now salary. I actually make LESS now then i did then. The people assisting me are making more then me since they are still hourly, cause we put in some hella long hours. But i guess if i need to miss some days im still taken care of. Just thought id rant for a minute. Anyone else ever run into this?

 

salary positions have benefits, but not many ...

+ you get paid the same if you're short 40 hours a week.
- you're never, ever short 40 hours.

The job I've been at for about 18mo now ... I've worked maybe 1, 35 hour week. I've done so much unpaid overtime it'll make your head spin.

 

Yeah less than 40 hours almost never ever ever happens. I too probably have only had a week that was less than 40 hours only I have been working on salary for almost 6 years now.

Because if you do, usually that does outweigh it in the end.

 

I guess health benefits like dental, massage therapy and drugs are okay. Holiday bonuses are nice. 20 days off is decent.

Still, the OT crap is horrible. I want my cake and I want to eat it all! h:

atleast you guys are getting paid! my boss doesnt pay me shit,..he just takes the money i work for and spends it on his 240 and hatchbacks and shit,...me and him are gonna have words here soon
