Default How many bars/clubs/lounges can you walk to from where you live?

Visiting home in the suburbs of DC and having to drive to the metro (a.k.a. subway), ride the train, then either walk for a while or hop a cab, reminded me of how easy I have it here in Madison. So between that, and the robo-bartender thread, it occurred to me, I wonder how many drinking establishments I have within walking distance of my apartment. So I counted. The final count? 47. Within half a mile of my place.

There's two distinct areas: State Street/near-State, and the Capital Square.

State/near-State
Madhatters
Brothers
Madison Avenue
Johnny O's
Wando's
Vintage
Lava Lounge
Blue Velvet
Amy's Cafe
The Red Shed
Kollege Klub
Crave
The Plaza
Bullfeathers
State Street Brats
The City
The Pub
Monday's
Hawk's
Cue-nique
Irish Pub
Stillwaters
Tutto Pasta
Nick's Restaurant
Orpheum Theater lobby
Paul's Club
The State
Frida

Capital Square
Club Majestic
Kimia Lounge
Brocach
Maduro
Opus
Paradise Lounge
Shamrock
Silver Dollar
Genna's
The Great Dane
Madison's
Cardinal Bar
King Club
Slipper Club
Corral Room
Concourse Hotel
Restaurant agnus
Silver Dollar
Cafe Montmartre

I just looked at that list I made and realized, hey this is a pretty cool town. How about yall folks?

None...I live in a former dry town up until the late 70s early 80s and to addd to that it houses a Christian University. So between the holy rollers and archaic values there are no real bars for 8 miles and no clubs until I hit just outside Portland which is about 20 miles.

Down the hill, there's only two. About a mile away, there's a ton of places. I usually drive down into San Diego to party. I just got back from a bar down there :crazyr:
