Government agency employees...enter
outside of my military career idea, I'm looking at government agencies. I'd prefer to work at some federal government office in Philadelphia or surrounding areas because going to Washington, DC would not allow me to save money.
my BA is in International Politics. I've been learning Arabic language and know the very basics of Russian language. I've taken numerous economics courses that focus on international scope as well.
What fields would my degree allow me to get a foot in? Also, I'm pretty good with computers but I don't have any certification.

I'm not employed by a government agency, but I have family members who are. I'd say with your knowledge of Arabic, you'd be a candidate for either the CIA or NSA; esp. with the way things are right now in the middle east.
i'm taking arabic to get my foot in the door, i'm not necessarily that good at it. some of the other white people in class picked it up well, i have not, but i still pass.
I'll see if I can get you some info on some of the jobs civilians do here. You might think the military has a group of interpreters that they use across the board, but really we have intepreters working in many aspects of our operations most of whom don't even work with each other. A lot of them are Iraqi right now, but the point is your knolwedge of Arabic, however limited should help a lot since there are constantly language barriers, largely because we use so many acronyms.
You knowledge of computers might get you into a pretty lucrative field, since those guys get paid out the wazoo....
