DVD+R/+RW and DVD-R/-RW

you dont have to finalize the +r/+rw and you do the -r/-rw thats the main difference

back when dvd writers came out, half the industry supported -, half the industry supported + ... 3 years later, there is no winner and most of the drives sold are dual compatable.

-R more compatible with older players
+R supposedly silightly better quality

with the correct drives, DVD+R can be burned as DVD-ROM

So neither of the two have anything to do with the ability of a dvd player to play dvd-r or dvd-rw?
