change the resolution when XP is in safe mode? I went to the whole Properties ---> Settings tab but when I choose another resolution besides 800x600 and hit apply or ok or whatever, it doesn't do anything. It hurts mein eyes!

The whole point of safe mode is to set a native resolution that is low.

what are you ultimatley trying to accomplish?

you should not just use your computer in safe mode constantly, it's extremely limited and meant to give you a shot at restoring your egistry mainly (sorry if I'm stating obvious things you know and all that.)

Why safe mode at all?

Werd. Windows uses a generic driver so if your graphics driver were to become corrupt, you can boot in safe mode and fix the problem.
