in regards to knowing the competition best, i realize there are two sides. the salesperson absolutely knows the competition best in regards to current products/pricing/positioning. marketing is invaluable in determining the competitive threats of future products/pricing schedules/market moves. so there...you made me think...

I'm getting my MBA and majoring in marketing. The marketing class I'm in now is boring and the textbook is useless. However, I am involved in a group project that is the development of a new product and a marketing plan. I'm loving that.
