dj02, you should also point out that it comes with a power adapter.. not that they all shouldn't anyway.

I have an Iriver IFP-795, similiar to this one but 512MB capacity (it's not listed anymore).

I'm very happy with it. I wish it had a little more capacity (1gig would probably be best) as I used to sometimes run out of new music towards the end of an 8 hour work day (depending on the quality/bitrate of the music). Has an FM tuner (which you can record to .mp3 files), mic recording and runs a AA battery. I bought a $20 set of 4 rechargeable Energizers and a charger and if I ever run out, it's very easy to find another AA so I'm never stuck with a dead battery.

i have a few friends that are iRiver whores. I don't know shit about it, but they tell me that iRivers are better than ipods for various reasons. I'm still living solidly in the 90's with a thick-ass cd wallet. h:

lots of pros... the size obviously, smaller than a shuffle, but it has a full oled screen, the sound quality is pretty good, fm radio, i think it even has line-in recording. the usb cable is a 1/8th coax jack on one side so it plugs into the headphone port which is pretty nifty... battery life is also pretty good

cons are that the headphones only work if you wear it around your neck (but at the gym and on the bike that's convenient anyway, and you can use regular headphones if you wanna put it in your pocket)... the buttons are also pretty small, so you gotta be precise when pushing them.

overall though, i think it's the best (and smallest) mp3 player for listining to music while you're doing active stuff.

i used to have a old school rio 512 and a iriver 1gb...i liked them all but gave them away for some unknown reason...
i wouldnt mind having another one a minimum of 1gb for the gym now, fm tuner would be a plus, but its no biggie to me now
im not to impressed by ipods but then they are the craze
