Okay, so i messed with mine b4 finding the manual, i took DarkarM's advice, and he is right. I turned my red eye reduction setting ON and got the multiburst flash. My camera is usually set for a single flash, no red eye reduction.

I have the sony DSCL1 (got it last nov. when in came out) I dunno how diff/alike our cameras are but for mine make sure you are on the photo setting (like you are ready to take a pic) > press the menu button > Setup > The title reads "Camera 1" > Scroll down to Red Eye REduction > Turn in off
