pick and pull waste of time today.
I went to this huge pick and pull down in Evansville, IN a couple years ago and was able to get a tranny for my '79 Datsun ZX for like $60...It was great! All the cars were already raised up with two wheels stacked on top of each other at all 4 corners...pretty effective jackstands.
Our version here is called "U Wrench It". Same concept I guess, you pay like $50 to go in. And come out with whatever you can carry. I've never been but I hear lots of people yanking turbo's all the time.
We had U-Wrench it and it was $1 to go in. They have now been bought by Pick-n-pull here in KC. Still $1. The place is a little cleaner now.

Make sure you realize that the wheels were welded together before you try to do this at home!

I made like $300 pulling stuff at a U-pull-it last year and selling it. Jeep cherokee overhead console's go for $50-75 if you have the wiring harness and visors, I use to get them from the yard for $5-10 each and sell them for $50+. Took 5min of my time to take them out. Paid for the chip in my audi. If I still lived in NJ I'd still be going there to get th consoles.
