And I was in fourth gear at the time. The whole drama unfolded in less time than it takes to read this sentence. I'm not going to run through the gears from 4th to 1st AND steer around a 5' tall buck. It just ain't gonna happen.
I was more concerned about saving him, myself and my car. Had I hit him, he would have come through the windscreen and probably killed me by blunt trauma to the head and chest.
