I know this has been discussed before and I did a search but I am still looking for the best way to resize pics without losing quality. I have a 5.1mp Cannon so my pics are huge and when I use MS Paint to resize they look like shit. I don't have photoshop so what programs that are out there which I can use?

Also is there a program that does a good job of resizing and can resize multiple pics at once?

Is there any tips when resizing pics that I should be aware of?

I use adobe photoshop to resize individual photos, Im not up to date on progs that do multiple.

1 tip is to make sure when you resize you keep the ratio of length and width the same. Adobe has a nice locking feature, so you can just input the height you want and it automatically calculates the width. You can also use it as a percent.

the trial version only lets you resize 5 images at a time, so you gotta close it and then you can do 5 more...ect

 

Tip? Dont use freaking MS Paint to work with photographs....


Photoshop for the win. From there you can create actions, batches, and droplets.

Free download and great program is Gimp. It is the only other program I will reccomend aside from PS.

 

i use macromedia fireworks...great for batches

(only because i dont have photoshop)

Image Resizer from Microsoft works good but you lose a bit of quality.
