Well $330 later it's working, bad gas valve. It's a 90%+ effiecency furnace, so there is no pilot light, electronic ignition. Most furnaces now don't have pilot lights, it wastes too much gas.

beats last summer. AC went out in the middle of august (hottest time of year here). It was 95 degrees with 80-90% humidity outside. Inside were 3 digits during the day, and felt like it at night since the windows were open. Was the HVAC techs busiest weeks of the year, so it took 1.5 weeks for them to come out and replace it.

that sucks! i'd much rather be without heat than AC. I didnt turn my heat on last year until Dec 20th. made for a sweet electric bill (all electric apt)
