Default Shipping Wheels

Is there something wrong with shipping wheels (wheel with fully inflated tire) by packing the wheel with cardboard on either side and shipping each seperately? I know that tire rack does it that way. Someone wants to buy the snow tires/wheels from my focus and wants it shipped. Trying to figure the best way to ship them.

Yeah, I think that is how I am going to do it. They are meant to be snow wheels (mounted with snow tires) so they are not the most attractive rims nor are they supposed to be. I will just do my due dilligence to not hurt them

mine were shipped individually with egg foam and then piece of plywood on each wheel, only the shinny side covered. It depends who ships it. If its by fedex ground, good luck.

however you ship it don't use fedex, if they lose the wheels your assed out. They use sub contracted drivers who are only responsible for $100 per package, so basically they can do their shopping off the truck. Beside's that fedex doesn't offer real insurance, they just charge more by what your indicated value is, so you feel like you have insurance on your goods. Plus the require a receipt for ALL claims, no receipt...good luck. And above all they treat package's with the utmost respect, making sure each employee has pummled your package like they were playing rugby.

It may cost more but UPS or the USPS will make sure the package gets there, make the buyer pay actual shipping.

Most of the wheel/tire packages i see go thru UPS just have a layer of foam with a piece of cardboard covering the inside and outside of the wheel.
