Default Stole a Tire in Broad Day Light

I just took a trip today to Bronx, NY with my wife's CRV.
At 3 pm I approached the car, parked in a busy street, to see that my spare tire (the one mounted on the back door) had been stolen. The wheel and tire will cost $300+ to replace.

But what I regret even more is not walking in on these f.uks. I do some martial arts and would love to see how good I really am.

Yeah I see CR-V's with the spare tire missing all the time down in the city. Sorry to hear about it, people are bastards. I never park anywhere in the city unless it's in a parking garage or a busy part of Manhattan...$25 for a day is a lot cheaper than paying to get stolen car parts replaced.

Thanks guys. I will survive the $300 but what really burns me is that it happened in front of a f...kin laundrymat and small grocery store and no one saw anything.

I wish I somehow hotwired that tire to electrocute the asshole who stole it.

As for Manhattan - I had my 2002 Camry parked on 74th and York Avenue (by the 1st Ave) in the middle of day, right next to some trendy coffee shop only to have my side miriror stolen (which I was told junkies use to cut heroin or some crap like that). And this was in a very ritzy area.....

God I miss my 1992 Cadillac (I paid $500 for that car). The car was such a wreck that I once found $5 bill under the wiper with a note "buy a better car."

That is the problem with todays society, everyone wants lower crime but yet when they see stuff going down:

A. They themselves dont get involved/care
B. Dont see anything, no one sees anything these days

:-(

I guess those anti theft lugs they sell are worth it?

I had bicycle cable on my CRV with a serial number combination on my spare and through the mount.

I also had a Spare tire Bicycle rack on it most of
the time so the ever present cable was to secure the bike
also.

$300 bucks??
Ever heard of slumming it and going
to a Junkyard.

i use to have a soft top cj jeep.. my spare and cover were stolen but at different times.. i replaced it and added a thick chain from a hardware store and pad lock.. my doors were stolen, shifter knob, windshield..thieves even tried to steal the black trim around the wheel wells, step trim and hood pulls.. people would leave things in it also..got in it one morning and a bag of pot was stuffed in the door between the skin and frame.. thieves left my stero and speakers alone?? sat outside, got rid of it.. too costly to insure with the theft claims..
