Carry a 12" vibrator instead. Point it at them and wink. I bet they'll run. No weapon license required.

 

Maybe I should carry around a combat fork and when some bum does that to me get a crazed look in my eye and scream incoherantly, "I'm not gonna let you f&(kers abduct me again you martian scum!"

You just need some intimidation points on your side.
