Self portraits are a pain in the ass. I wonder if it's because a person is very self critical of themselves, or that they can't bring their own personality out in a self shot portrait. Either way I have been working on getting a decent self portrait for about 4 days now and it seems to be going very slowly and making me frustrated at the same time.

how big does the picture have to be?

 

I wish it was that easy, but it's for a contest submission on a photogroup I belong to. So needless to say having to turn out something that wows a bunch of proffessional and semipro shooters is harder than a simple snapshot.

 

i hate getting my picture taken..... unless im drunk. then i dont care, but thats probably cuz i dont realize im getting my picture taken.

 

max posted size is 600 at the longest side, though I tend to post a 600 with a click through to an 800 sized image because degradation is horrible at 600.

 

Use the one of you smoking, thats a pretty cool self portrait.

 

I want to but I can't because the shot has to be taken during this month. That one was taken last year

 

take one in teh mirror with the camera... call it an artistic play on myspace pictures

 

Now thats a quick way to get laughed off the board.
