Default lug nut question

What is the difference between Acorn Bulge Seat and Acorn/Tapered Seat? Which one do I need/want? I am looking to get some black lugs for the winter wheels I am putting on (99 Teg). Please see the link below for a better understanding of what I am talking about.

Thanks a lot.

The only difference I see is at the bottom of the lug nut. It has a slightly different shape.

Does it matter which one I get? Will both work/function the same? I don't really see a big difference, but I want to get whatever one is "correct."

Thanks

the acorn bulge seat will make contact with more surface area. the acorn tapered is good for smaller lug holes.

I am putting on 14" steel wheels from an older Teg (94-97)......so I want the bulge seat, correct? What would be considered a smaller lug hole?

With steelies you won't have a problem with either. But if you had aftermarket wheels then that would be something you would need to worry about.

Thanks guys! I didn't think it mattered much with the steelies, but I wanted to make sure.

For OEM wheels you want acorn/ball shaped lug. Most aftermarket wheels use conical/tapered seat lugs.

Just don't go to the auto parts store and ask if they have bulging nuts. :uhhok:
